Today I’m excited to announce that I have begun a little project for myself! The idea came to me one day I was driving to my mom’s house. I was chatting a bit with my guides on the way there, mainly my Elf Mother and an apple tree spirit. At one point though, I was mulling over the fact that I would still like to have a tarot deck or an oracle deck of cards about trees, but I hadn’t found any decks that I really loved. The idea popped into my head that I should just make my own deck of cards! Now, this isn’t the kind of idea I normally have, especially considering the fact that I consider my artistic skills to be not that great. Usually I would say to myself that it would be great to be able to make my own deck of cards, but that would be it, a great idea.
Why is this idea so important though? Firstly, it was an idea that came to me, and the best way I can think of explaining it would be to say that the thought was placed in my mind. Almost like the image of a light bulb turning on! This idea was a way for Spirit to help guide me to follow what excites me and to show me that I can let go of the limitations I put upon myself. I can let go of the thought that I am unable to do anything artistic. I can let go of how I constantly compare myself and my abilities to others, and so I can begin to accept myself for all that I am truly capable of.
This idea felt so pure and positive, there was no judgement, no doubt, no criticism, no negative putdown. Just the feeling that I knew that I could more than easily create my own deck of cards.
And so, today is the day that I have decided to begin creating my deck of cards. I picked up a beautiful journal the other day that is perfect for it! So far I’m going to focus on the messages that the tree spirits would like to provide, and later I will try to work on the illustrations. The illustrations will be the most challenging part for me, but I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from it!
The first tree that came to mind while I was thinking about this was my favourite tree: the hackmatack tree (Larix laricina is its scientific name). I’d like to share her messages with all of you today, as a treat for the beginning of my new journey. ❤
The Hackmatack Tree:
~Let go, Learn, Grow~
Let go of what you are holding onto that you do not longer need. Shed your burdens like I shed my needles each year. They may arise and come back, but that is okay – shed those fears, limitations, and expectations, and you will grow so much more!
~Learn & Let go!~
Be firm, but gentle. We are the hardest softwood and as this I ask that you be firm but also gentle and understanding with yourself and others.
~Be Gentle, Yet Firm~
There is love all around you throughout your life. You may call upon me whenever you need a gentle nudge or push in the right direction. I will help guide you to a new perspective full of love and acceptance. I will hold you in my loving embrace and help lift you up when you feel down. All you have to do is ask. ❤
Honestly I feel as if I couldn’t have picked a more appropriate tree to begin with! It really reflects this whole idea of letting go of all of your expectations, limitations, and beliefs that are holding you back, especially when starting anything new in your life! I’m really looking forward to adding to this journal, seeing what each new tree would like to say, and sharing it with all of you.
Also – if you’ve never hugged a Hackmatack tree before then go do it! Softest hug you’ll ever get from a tree!
Thank you all, as always, for you constant love and support 🙂
